Just enjoy life ;)
The old T-shirt of my daughter found in the wardrobe in the time of quarantine
This year for the International Day of Storytelling (21st March) there was going to be The Spring Storytelling Festival at my school. Everything was planned but the Terrorist Earth decided to do a trick.
Nevertheless, I asked my students to search the Internet for some good short stories. They sent a lot of fantastic ones.
Here are three of them I found the most interesting.
Story number 1
An old man lived in the village. He was one of the most unfortunate people in the world. The whole village was tired of him; he was always gloomy, he constantly complained and was always in a bad mood.
The longer he lived, the more bile he was becoming and the more poisonous were his words. People avoided him, because his misfortune became contagious. It was even unnatural and insulting to be happy next to him.He created the feeling of unhappiness in others. But one day, when he turned 80, an incredible thing happened. Instantly everyone started hearing the rumour:
“An Old Man is happy today, he doesn’t complain about anything, smiles, and even his face is freshened up.”
The whole village gathered together and the old man was asked:
- What happened to you?
- Nothing special - he answered - For eighty years I have been chasing happiness and it was useless.
So I decided to just enjoy life....
Story number two - The Greedy Mouse
The greedy mouse saw a basket full of corn. It wanted to eat the corn, so it made a small hole in the basket. It squeezed through the hole. It ate a lot of corn until he was full.
Now it wanted to leave. It tried to leave through a small hole but he couldn’t. Its stomach was full. It tried again. But it couldn’t.
The mouse began to cry. A rabbit was passing by. It heard the mouse cry and asked, "Why are you crying, my friend?"
The mouse explained: "I made a small hole and went into the basket to eat corn. Now I can't get out of this hole."
The rabbit said, "That's because you ate too much. Wait for the stomach to contract. The rabbit laughed and walked away. The mouse fell asleep in the basket. The next morning his stomach contracted. But it wanted to eat some corn. It forgot to leave the basket. So it ate corn and his stomach was really big again.
After eating, the mouse remembered that it must escape. But of course it couldn't. So it thought, "Oh! I will leave tomorrow.
The cat was another passerby. It felt the mouse in the basket. It lifted the lid and ate the mouse.
Moral of the story: Being greedy will be your undoing. While it’s great to make the most out of a successful venture, do not be too greedy that you’re hoarding all the rewards. Don’t be like the greedy mouse who did not realize his own predicament until it’s too late!
Story number 3 - Learning from mistakes

Story number 3 - Learning from mistakes
Story number 3 - Learning from mistakes
Thomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb. When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, “All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing, Not sure if we can use an electricity properly.”
Edison replied very confidently, “Oh, we have come a long way and we have learned a lot. We know that there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good light bulb.”
Well, well, well ... What are the morals of these stories:
1.Just enjoy life
2.Don't be greedy
3.Never give up
My students are very clever...., aren't they?
